Let me help the Republicans

The old Republicans

As most people probably know, the Republicans took a major beating in this years elections. Now they are trying to figure out why they lost. The reasons shouldn't be that hard to figure out for them, but they are running around like the aftermath of the Bible's tower of Babel where no one could understand each other. Republicans seem to think it was the sudden bad economy, and there is a grain of truth there...

Follow up:

After all, who has been in power for the last eight years? Oh yeah, the Republicans! That would mean they lost the election in part because they made the rich richer and the poor poorer.

The next reason given for losing by Republicans is George W. Bush. Now, what party does GW belong to? Oh yeah, the Republicans! I guess this would suggest that the top member of their party did the most to screw the country up, and the Republicans did nothing about it. Wonder why they didn't try and stop GW if they are so moral and conservative?

A favorite excuse is The War in Iraq .. How about the lie about Weapons of mass destruction? Again, Republicans everywhere can blame themselves for doing nothing about this. How about torture? How about the oil companies, and screaming for free markets while fighting regulation and the economy falls in the toilet because there is no regulation and big businesses can do anything they wish to help bring down the economy. But, you got your cut didn't cha' *wink*.

I guess it comes down to me that the Republicans lost because they are Republicans. The world has changed and doesn't need the same old southern good ole' boy, ultra religious bigotry of the the 1950's, 1960's, 1970's or 80's. Reagan is dead and gone along with Presidents Eisenhower and Nixon. And, as long as the Republicans keep trying to pull the people back into their cocoon of the past, they will continue to lose. Face the truth y'all.

Now repeat after me all you Republicans... Gov. Sarah Palin was a drag on the ticket. Repeat this several times a day until the truth sinks in. I know you believe this in your heart of hearts as I watched you shut Palin down at the Governor's meeting last week. That was a good start!

Next, stop telling everyone that America is a center right country. This is not true and to say this is to speak only to those in their late 60's. Those people will be gone soon, and you will have no one to listen to your stuff. We are far more tolerant of other cultures than in the 1950's, and other's religion or lack of it, gays AND Americans are far more informed about politics than the 1950's. Just get rid of the race card now, because a great majority of the country (just look at the states you no longer have) don't care to be bigoted haters.

But, the biggest thing you can do to save your party and win the white house again is ........ drop the "Me" generation message, and become Democrats!
