Joe Lieberman, the man that bounced from dem to indie to repub and back again (now that he's gotten to keep his committee chair position), took his slap on the wrist (lost one chair position, but kept the plums) and then went off to speak with Katie Couric for his "victory tour".
Follow up:
The same man that expertly used his verbal knives on the back of President Elect Barack Obama, and insulted most all of his friends, is bacccckk! Only in America....
After his salvation by his fellow senators, Joe Lieberman told Katie Couric "it's time for us to reconcile, to close ranks." He added he was "very grateful" and "in some senses feeling closer to the Senate Democratic caucus than I have since the 2000 election."
In other words, "whoooh .. can't believe I got away with everything! I've got a fond place in my heart for those dumb dems."
Many bloggers across the net have expressed outrage of the results of Joe Lieberman getting a free pass after attacking Barak Obama with such remarks as;
“In my opinion, the choice could not be more clear: between one candidate, John McCain, who’s had experience, been tested in war and tried in peace, another candidate who has not,’’ Mr. Lieberman said. “Between one candidate, John McCain, who has always put the country first, worked across party lines to get things done, and one candidate who has not. Between one candidate who’s a talker, and the other candidate who’s the leader America needs as our next president.”
Well, I'll let him tell it..
To be fair to Obama, he simply is doing exactly as he said. Bring together the parties and the nation. He appears to be doing an excellent job of that, but at what expense. I've already seen many posts by people that are not exactly kind to our President Elect.
